Sir Keir Starmer plans to press supporting countries to deliver Ukraine with more long-range missiles to target Russian targets during a meeting in the UK capital on the upcoming Friday.

Britain's leader will host Ukraine's leader Zelensky alongside what's known as "coalition of the willing", including more than 20 of Kyiv's partners who have committed to offer Ukraine defense assurances once a ceasefire is negotiated.

The Ukrainian leader has been appealing for several weeks for additional long-range weapons from allied countries, a step that the Russian government has stated would worsen the war.

The Ukrainian president is journeying from Brussels, where he held talks with European Union officials on yesterday pursuing economic assistance.

"The sole individual engaged in the ongoing war who does not want to stop the conflict is the Russian leader," Starmer said.

Sir Keir furthermore announce that a hundred extra air defence missiles will be supplied to Ukrainian forces ahead of schedule, as outlined in a £1.6bn deal struck between the United Kingdom and Ukraine in spring.

Ukraine's leader comes after important international achievements recently: Donald Trump's decision to enact additional restrictions against Moscow, and EU nations consenting to finance a Ukrainian budget hole.

Britain's leader is aiming to continue the progress by intensifying the leverage on the Kremlin to negotiate an end to the hostilities.

Sir Keir will encourage leaders to increase the supply of extended-range systems following a productive operation on a manufacturing site in the Bryansk region, the Russian Federation, using UK-provided missile systems.

"Additionally, his horrific assaults on young children in a nursery in recent days demonstrate that perfectly obvious," he added.

A pair of children were among at least seven killed in multiple Moscow's attacks on the country, which struck a daycare center in the second biggest city the eastern city.

Financial Discussions

Sir Keir will consult supporting countries on methods to take Russian oil and gas off the global market.

Delegates will also consider utilizing blocked Russian resources to supply Ukraine with monetary support, though the plan encountered insufficient agreement and jurisdictional challenges at the Brussels summit on Thursday.

European Union opted against approving an initiative to employ approximately €140 billion in frozen Russian assets to financially prop up Ukraine.

Nonetheless, the participants agreed to help support Kyiv's "budgetary necessities" for the next two years.

United States furthermore announced sanctions on recently against Russia's major petroleum firms, Rosneft and Lukoil Corporation, as component of initiatives to add financial pressure on Moscow to enter hostility discussions.

Moscow began its comprehensive attack of Ukrainian territory in early 2022. Russian troops currently occupies about 20% of the country's land, encompassing the southern Crimea peninsular Moscow annexed in several years ago.
