Recent Particulars Surface Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
New information has come to light about the shocking deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
According to a report citing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
Upon entering the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The anonymous source challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.
The source also disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes reports of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
