International Committee of the Red Cross Assists Hamas in Search for Remains of Captives in Gaza Strip

A Red Cross official stated that its representatives accompanied members of Hamas into areas of the Gaza Strip still under IDF control to support the hunt for the bodies of Israeli hostages.

Truce Terms and Captive Bodies Return

As part of the truce negotiated by the United States, which began on October 10, the group is required to hand over the remains of all Israeli hostages as soon as possible. As a reciprocal measure, the Israeli government has agreed to hand over the remains of 15 Palestinians for each Israeli.

She additionally clarified: “Our team was not involved in the search for the deceased nor does it take part in the retrieval of human remains.”
