Fans Call for Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande
Loyal supporters of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barrier and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.
A widely shared clip reveals the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the premiere by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
Pattern of Event Invasions
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed features clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user remarked.
Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma
Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further message on Instagram.
Several fans also criticised guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's videos.
Reaction and Event Details
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of attendees had assembled in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including several who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.
The motion picture, to be launched on November 21, is the second of a two-part version of the acclaimed stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two contrasting characters.
The show itself is a spin-off of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.
They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, securing a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
