Parents of a minor who received critical wounds after being thrown from the tenth level of the Tate Modern have stated their "brave warrior" has reached his target of managing to run, jump, and swim again.

The French child was aged six when he was hurled from a ledge by a youth, then 17 years old.

The child, who was on holiday with the family in August 2019 when attacked, endured a 100ft fall but suffered permanent wounds, like a brain hemorrhage and shattered bones.

Relatives stated in an update on a donation page, they were delighted that he had been successful to progress with his swimming, running and jumping before his forthcoming procedure.

"He doesn't accomplish as youngsters of his age, of course, but we can no longer explain his actions in another manner than by calling it's swimming, running, and jumping."

"It varies, only over a couple of yards or a minimal elevation, but it's an incredible success."

He, who endured months in critical care, has continued to gain cognitive endurance.

His family said although his memory skills were still quite restricted, they were effective and progressing, so he was "gaining a general knowledge at his rate, which more and more allows him to be involved with other children."

'Objective Met'

They added: "He's also growing up, and thanks to his work with the psychomotor therapist, he now allows himself to relax."

"Previously, to make up for his limitation on the left part, he maintained his right-hand side constantly tense, which resulted in pain."

"Now, our youngster (we have to face the facts, he's not a little boy anymore) has comprehended that he must to allow himself pauses; we have to tell him not as much."

He has also achieved a long-held goal with dad: "As we reside a few kilometres from the sea, they had planned their ultimate aim of having a al fresco lunch at the seaside and then going home."

"Following multiple progressive training sessions, they finally finished their 150-minute trip. They came back tired but thrilled. Objective met."

After a trial at the Old Bailey, the youth was sentenced of attempted murder and was incarcerated in two thousand twenty for at least a decade and a half.
