Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions this season due to a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the final set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally for the first time for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
