The UK is set to progress with utilizing the total value of frozen Russia's funds to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to participate in talks.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

British restrictions have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Russia launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, money allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their desire to advance efforts toward using the total worth of the frozen Russian sovereign assets to halt hostilities.

He added that additional sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement is subsequent to EU representatives met in the Danish capital last week to debate utilizing frozen Russia's funds for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to seize or employ immobilized Russia's holdings, according to reports.

The worth of frozen Russian holdings in the EU is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Russia executed widespread aerial attacks all over Ukraine on recently, causing power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

In a message on an online platform following the strike, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"Every sanction decision undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told the press he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL programme, under which partner nations buy weapons from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the UK's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as impose more restrictions on Moscow.
