Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American performer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
